What if serving the poor was a call so close to the heart of God that for a church to ignore it would be blasphemy?
I posted this question on facebook and twitter last week and got a few responses, but now I’m asking you. I’m not asking this as a Scriptural question. I don’t want you to pull out your Bibles. I want you to look into your heart and tell me what your heart knows.
We can talk all day about what the Scripture says, but Scripture says a lot. Scripture says not to eat shrimp and not to wear clothes of mixed fibers. It also says in the Gospel of Matthew to make sure you have forgiven your brother before you try to worship God. So, we know we don’t practice all the Bible teaches.
So, what’s in your heart bout serving the poor?
